Our Creative Curriculum 2015-2016
After weeks of sanding, painting and general beautification of pre-loved furniture, we held our very own up-cycled furniture Auction on Thursday 10thDecember. The children did an outstanding job and we raised in excess of £1000, all to go towards our trip to the theatre to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
In the spring term the children created orienteering maps for the rest of the school to follow during Maths Week. They wrote questions for each year group to answer and displayed them around the school. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed it!
We also brought Henry VIII to life, learning about his reign, and his love of women and good food. The children created 4 life size collages along with clay busts and 3D models that are now on display in both Year 5 classrooms.
Our current topic is Find Us In Space, where we will be learning about the Milky Way and how our universe works. We will also be navigating around our globe from the North to the South Poles.
We are all really excited about our trip to the theatre to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and hope to make it a very special evening that the children will always remember.
Watch this space for the summer term when Year 5 will be breathing new life into the Timbercroft Sports Day event!
